So a couple of weeks on from the reappearance of DY and the abuse has also returned. A few individuals have been repeatedly targeted, and very personal comments made where sometimes even family members are mentioned.
One fiery-tempered operator from Sutton-in-Ashfield seems to find it absolutely impossible to ignore the idiots and responds every single time with his own abuse and threats of intimidation, violence, murder, etc. He has announced his own address and mobile telephone number on countless occasions challenging the abusers to go to his house. He was heard last week offering £100 to anybody who can give him a definite address of who has been continually goading him and asserts that when he finds out where his nemesis lives he will go round and commit various acts of violence upon their person. This kind of behaviour is of course no better than the abuse and just as illegal.
One name in particular and a location of Ironville, Derbyshire have been repeatedly mentioned, however once again it seems like sheer speculation as no actual evidence to support this was presented, just the usual claims of "we know it's him", "I recognise his voice", etc. In spite of the obvious fact to anybody listening that there are several abusers, not one.
To close it seems very appropriate to once again state that: WE ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CONDONE lynch-mob type behaviour or the carrying out of violence on suspected perpetrators as often those suspected are not really responsible.

GB3DY has returned once again!

So finally DY is back and it is fantastic to hear it once again alive and in use. It appears so far that the levels of abuse are right down at a minimum compared to the pandemonium occurring just before the repeaters 2-month long hiatus. Although there has been a number of whispering wallies making appearances however, they have been mostly benign and their comments only mildly annoying in sharp contrast to the vicious bile-filled rhetoric that was spewing forth previously.
This afternoon did have an incident of note where several of these whispering weirdoes were present. They were exchanging sounds and comments when one of them repeatedly mentioned a name and address, there was a short pause then another voice mentioned a different name and address and also a callsign. Presumably they were revealing each others identities to provoke the other into retaliation but everything soon went quiet again.
Just to re-iterate a previous point and to echo the advice given by the licensing authority, if people can withhold from commenting or replying to these minor disturbances (notwithstanding it is in fact a breach of your licence to engage with an unidentified station) then it is likely they will get bored and go away. On the whole since it's re-establishment the repeater has been used properly and the QSO's have been pleasant to listen to. Many thanks to the repeater group and let's hope it continues in a positive direction.

IS GB3DY EVER GOING TO COME BACK?
The box has been switched off for a month now with no sign of returning, so did OfCom finally do their job and order a cooling off period... well surely it would have been better to leave the repeater operational and actually GO OUT AND CATCH THE ABUSERS?!
It now seems the idiots have moved to the other local repeaters. The abuse, swearing and croaky voices have so far been regularly heard on:

It is truly unbelievable that the abuse could have carried on for the duration of time that it has without some kind of action from the authorites and it appears to indicate OfCom are but a far cry from the former Radio Investigation Service who actually got the job done by going out and catching these idiots in the act.
Just Friday 8th October morning PAUL G8JGF was heard arguing with a foul-mouthed cretin on GB3IN who threatened Paul with all manner of violence and goaded him to drive to Alport Heights for a fight. But instead of ignoring it as his license conditions state Paul repeatedly threatened him back and returned the abuse and their exchanges continued for over 15 minutes. Paul was heard shortly afterwards on the same repeater using the D-STAR mode talking to G0IZL asserting how 'hard' he is and boasting about what he would do to the abuser.

GB3DY Returns briefly & so do the jammers
At some point today or possibly yesterday the repeater was back on air, so either the keeper decided to switch off temporarily or maybe there was a technical fault which caused it to go down, we do not know for sure.
Unfortunately the jammers also returned today and during the evening subjected DY to a barrage of stupid noises, sore throat stupidity, mic keying and music playing. On a nice sunny day like today they could do something positive like spend time with their friends or family but instead they choose to behave like idiots. One must wonder if they were sat by their radios waiting for the repeater to re-appear. Why do they do it? The mind boggles...
A few days later however the repeater was switched off again. Hopefully more information to come soon.

GB3DY has been switched off!
Since the last update nothing has changed on DY and the abuse has been constant up until today.
Today started much the same as any other, with the morning net disrupted and Tim G6HRN as usual the main target of the squeakies who showered him with their now regular deluge of pig grunts, squeals and pork-related put-downs.
The abuse continued throughout the day and again as usual anybody who tried to use the repeater for a qso was met with a tirade of swearing, threats and abusive language.
Later in the afternoon during a particularly hectic period, a large amount of iq-zeros were causing a great deal of havoc and many unidentified stations were transmitting, some claiming to be tracking down the abusers, others simply retaliating to the deviants who of course gave back ten-fold. There were mentions of a caravan and a location was given out several times where it was claimed abuse was emanating from, one of the squawking fools taunted hams to come and knock on the caravan door as they know where he lives but it was not clear if anybody did or not.
Around 5 o'clock after an afternoon of unremitting retardation one sore throated simpleton was babbling away to himself when the repeater seemed to go spookily silent, checks were made and it was found that it was impossible to rouse DY from its slumber, 15 minutes passed without any morse identification and then 30. This suggests the repeater has been turned off.
This is a rather unfortunate situation for the respectful users of DY, who we feel empathy towards in this situation but on the other hand maybe during a cooling off period the numb-skulls will find other avenues to let out their frustration. We have no information as to when DY will return but hopefully when it does these mindless idiots won't be around and those who want to operate with respect for each other can get on with using the repeater as it was intended.

Sorry we haven't updated the blogs in ages, we ran out of storage space on SoundCloud and thus could not upload any more recordings. However recordings are being taken every day and we are presently looking for hosting so if anybody could help with that please get in touch at this email address - nfourmer (at) yahoo (dot) com - thanks.
So, the jamming has continued unabated, if anything it has got worse with music playing, stupid noises, obscenities etc heard constantly throughout the day and sometimes these incidents continue relentlessly for hours. There have been a few incidents with newly licensed M6 ex-CBers coming on making threats of violence and accusing certain people of jamming who we know for a fact are not responsible, also some older amateurs (who should really know better and be setting an example of how to behave on air) have been heard swearing and calling people names. Of course all these accusations are based on hearsay and are nothing but s**t-stirring and speculation with no proof, foundation or facts to back any of it up.
Also people still haven't got the message to IGNORE THE ABUSE. Every day various people are talking about the abuse or responding to the idiots or sometimes communicating with them! This is counter-intuitive as it gives them an audience / platform and only encourages them to persist with their behaviour. If the interference becomes so bad the QSO cannot continue then QSY so they have nobody to annoy. Let us re-iterate this point, if you hear anybody swearing, making stupid noises, keying up etc, please DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR EXISTENCE AS IT ONLY MAKES THE SITUATION WORSE.

Maybe it is time for a cooling off period as has happened with other repeaters in the country, but this process seems highly unfair as again it's the lawful users who will suffer. Pathetic Foul Mouthed Squeaky

During the evening the repeater was mostly quiet apart from the usual stupid noises being made occasionally. A few people called out but didn't hang around. Unfortunately when Tony G6MWS and Michael M3PQX started holding a conversation on the repeater an obnoxious and abusive reprobate surfaced and made things very difficult. His signal was strong into the repeater and so caused a lot of interference, at times wiping both stations out. This foul-mouthed waste of oxygen was shouting in a high-pitched voice making derogatory comments and imitating snoring. His abuse was absolutely pathetic and it is a shame that a person could waste their time spewing out garbage such as this.

Mad as a March Hare!

Well today the repeater was alive and buzzing with activity but sadly not the favourable type of activity.
Some buffoon started it all off relentlessly screaming and was soon joined on frequency. It quickly degraded into mayhem with swearing, whistling, strange laughter, all kinds of squeaking and bizarre noises filling the airwaves. One could be forgiven for looking around and double-checking they had not somehow stumbled their way into a mental institution. The bedlam continued for a while and sanity rapidly diminished when an unidentified voice claimed to be a representative from Ofcom working in the area! A great shame their claim was likely tongue-in-cheek. A squeaky threatened to knock him out and the playground antics persisted with ever-decreasing intelligence.
As the insanity persisted Mark M0MTH called out for a contact. He ought to have listened for a few moments to become aware of what was going on as he would have surely had second thoughts. Instantly a noise-making nincompoop jumped on and screamed at him. He quickly started to get the better of Mark who sounded particularly annoyed and sensitive today and preferably should have ignored the abuse. He seized his chance and attacked M0MTH, repeatedly screaming. Mark appeared to be genuinely distressed by the experience, clearly expressing his annoyance whilst the onslaught continued.
Later on Alan G6RBM and Paul G8JGF were in QSO. The same friendly fellow graced the repeater with his presence again, attempting a similar technique to earlier with the intention of agitating Paul. The QRM continued and each time there was a gap he would dive in and splutter some hoarsely spoken drivel. M0MTH returned just as Paul and Alan were signing and was targeted again, but could have quite easily avoided more abuse by staying clear of the repeater until the QRM had ceased.
Later still Sore Throat Man made an appearance while another muttonhead was transmitting 1750hz tone bursts. Obviously a glutton for punishment today Mark M0MTH could be heard with a weakened signal telling them to "stop jamming the repeater". Not surprisingly the jamming went on. Mark remarked that he was switching off as he couldn't be bothered with the abuse. This was much to the delight of Sore Throat Man who roared with laughter and growled at the top of his larynx!

Sore Throat Man Returns

No Sunday evening is complete without the growls of Sore Throat Man who made an appearance just as G7SWW, G6MWS & 2E1FKM were signing off. He didn't sound very inspired tonight though, opting to scream "yeaaahhhhhhh" repeatedly as opposed to his usual barrage of insults. Someone should inform this pillock that incessant shouting such as this can damage the vocal cords over time and result in some particularly nasty complications. The unidentified station keying the microphone over the idiot should remember that unfortunately the very act of jamming him violates the BR68 in spite of being done with the very best of intentions.
